IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Floyd
Jenkins Jr.
February 21, 1953 – July 18, 2025
Obituary
Deacon Floyd Jenkins, Jr., was born February 21, 1953,
in Shuqualak, Mississippi, to the late Floyd and Gladys Jenkins.
He confessed Christ at an early age and united with Old Shiloh
Missionary Baptist Church in Shuqualak, where he remained a
faithful and dedicated member throughout his life.
On August 23, 1970, Floyd was united in holy matrimony to the
late Brenda Marie Jenkins. Their union was blessed with four sons,
and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love.
Floyd was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and
friend.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Marie
Jenkins; parents, Floyd and Gladys Jenkins; and three sisters and
two brothers.
Floyd’s legacy continues through his loving sons, David Earl
(Mary Ann) Jenkins of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Floyd III (Pattie)
Jenkins of Collinsville, Mississippi, and Rafael (Trina) Jenkins
and John (Tonya) Jenkins, both of Omaha, Nebraska; siblings,
Mary Louise Shephard of Columbus, Mississippi, Mable Lynn
Williams of Scooba, Mississippi, Freeman (Carolyn) Jenkins of
Shuqualak, Mississippi, Ethel Jenkins of Electric Mills, Mississippi,
Melvin (LaDonna) Jenkins of Prairie Point, Mississippi, Gladys
(Wendell) Lyles of Los Angeles, California, and Joelee (Patricia)
Jenkins of Lauderdale, Mississippi; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-
grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended
family, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Floyd worked as a skilled carpenter for many years and faithfully
served as the water operator for Porterville Water System for 42
years, only stepping away when his health began to decline. He was
deeply committed to his church, his community, and those around
him.
In his spare time, Floyd enjoyed spending time with his family,
hunting, and fishing—activities that brought him great joy and
peace.
Deacon Floyd Jenkins, Jr., lived a life of service, love, and
unwavering faith. His legacy of dedication, kindness, and strength will continue to inspire all who knew him
