Obituary

The earthly journey of Geraldine Clay began on January 10, 1951, in Lowndes County, Mississippi. She was born to the late Alice Hairston and the late Stacy Davis, Sr. Her earthly journey and story concluded on December 22, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.

In her youth, Geraldine confessed hope in Christ and joined Fairview Full Gospel Baptist Church. She attended Lowndes County Schools. Geraldine later joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Macon, MS.

Geraldine was united in Holy Matrimony to Julius Clay. From this union, three children were born. She loved her family dearly and shared her wisdom with them to help them navigate their life's journey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers,Godfrey, Stacy Jr., Timothy, and Michelle; and sister, Nancy.

Geraldine leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Tyrone Clay and Andrew Clay, both of Macon, MS; daughter, Felisha Clay, of Macon, MS; granddaughter, Courtney Clay, of Preston, MS; great-grandchildren, Khole and Kylan Clay, of Macon, MS; brothers, Willie Hairston; Ricky (Ella) Hairston, both of Macon, MS; Glenn (Sandra) Davis, of Jackson, MS; and Willie James (Debbie) Davis, of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Mary J. Hairston, of Macon, MS; Portia Faye (Jesse) Mason, Stacy Lynn Prowell, and Lovey Davis, all of St. Louis, MO; stepmother, Betty Jean Davis, of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, Velda Davis, of Columbus, MS; aunts, Nancy McIntosh, of Dekalb, MS; Alberta Van Hook and Edna Davis, both of St. Louis, MO; and Helen Davis, of Gary, IN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
